Schedule: 4 days on 4 days off 12 hour shifts
Pay: Salary will be discussed at interview
You will be trained and responsible for managing a shift for a scrap handling facility located on the property of a steel mill. The equipment used is heavy duty construction type equipment such as front end loaders, dozers, off the road trucks, hydraulic and cable cranes and equipment designed to process scrap metal.
- The operation is capital intensive, and the equipment must be maintained.
- 3-5 years of supervisory experience directing hourly production, maintenance or transportation employees in a heavy industrial environment is a strong plus (experience may be used in lieu of education requirements).
- Belief and knowledge of safety programs required.
- Must be willing to work any shift including weekends and nights.

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Supervising operations within a facility to achieve higher output
- Organizing training and educational manuals for the production team
- Assisting in the recruitment and onboarding of new hires
- Ensuring compliance with safety and professional standards within a facility
- Organizing, monitoring, and prioritizing tasks to meet production goals
- Evaluating various stations of the production operation to ensure optimum efficiency
- Maintaining communication between employees and senior executives to ensure procedures and policies are well-understood
- Ensuring the flow of raw materials and other resourceso
- Knowledge of manufacturing tools and equipment
- IT skills, especially using data analysis software
- Excellent organization, communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills, and a strong work ethic
- Ability to create and adhere to production processes
- Ability to write reports legibly and accurately
- Relevant training and certification in industrial production, engineering, or any related field
