Available Job Opportunity: Principal Health and Safety Advisor (New Role- 1 Year Contract with the possibility of extension)
Location: Open for consideration (preferred location include: Ontario, Nevada, Arizona, British Columbia, and Utah) - Hybrid/Remote
Travel: 25-33% to Sites within North America
We are seeking an experienced Principal Health & Safety Advisor to provide senior-level expertise and leadership across North American operations. This role will guide and mentor site Health and Safety teams, lead improvements to enterprise safety systems, support compliance with evolving regulatory requirements, and partner with leaders across the business to embed a culture of zero harm. The ideal candidate is collaborative, proactive safety leader who can influence without direct authority and thrives in complex, multi-jurisdictional environments and report to the Head of Operations.
- Serve as a senior internal subject matter expert in Health & Safety and industrial hygiene to executive and operational leadership.
- Mentor and develop H&S leaders across multiple operating sites and regional project teams, building long-term organizational capability.
- Promote strong safety culture through proactive risk management, coaching, and consistent application of best practices across all regions.
- Lead the development and continuous improvement of the Health & Safety Management System across enterprise and site levels.
- Oversee development and implementation of the Crisis Management Plan, including facilitating a full mock simulation exercise.
- Support updates to Corporate and Site Fit for Duty, Drug and Alcohol, and related H&S policies to ensure alignment and compliance.
- Collaborate with U.S. sites to design and implement compliance strategies for the MHSA Silica Rule.
- Analyze historical H&S data and incidents to identify trends and drive risk reduction initiatives.
- Partner with corporate team to develop key risk indicators (KRIs) and strengthen structured reporting and governance processes.
- Maintain strong engagement with regional mining associations and regulators to monitor emerging requirements and ensure operational readiness across multiple jurisdiction.
- Act as a champion for effective change management across both corporate and environments.

- BS or BA in a related field is required.
- Professional safety certification.
- 12+ years of progressive experience in Health and Safety and/or Industrial Hygiene.- Demonstrated expertise in industrial hygiene and H&S best practices.
- Prior leadership or management experience at an operating mine in the U.S. and/or Canada is an asset.
- Preference for candidates with experience in open pit and underground mining and processing operations.
- Proven ability to influence, advise, and deliver results without direct authority.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Proactive and assertive in advocating for safety, with the confidence to speak up and influence decisions that support zero harm and operational excellence.
- Strong relationship-building and coaching abilities, able to foster trust. Mentor leaders and support meaningful cultural improvement.
- Highly analytical thinker, capable of interpreting complex data, identifying trends, and translating insights into practical, measurable actions.
- Adept at operating within diverse regulatory environments, with the ability to guide multi-site teams through evolving requirements and operational challenges.
