About The Opportunity
We have an opportunity for a full-time temporary
Payroll Liaisonto join the Centerra Corporate team. This is remote contract role for up to an 18-month term.
Reporting to the Senior HR Business Partner, the Payroll Liaison is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for bi-weekly and semi-monthly payrolls. The incumbent will serve as the primary contact for payroll related concerns and will work closely with the site HR team. This position will review and verify timekeeping data, resolve payroll discrepancies, and support compliance with company policies and regulations.
Your Responsibilities Will Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Maintain the time and attendance tracking system, ensuring accurate data capture and timely follow-up with employees and managers.
- Process time and attendance exceptions and corrections as needed.
- Validate and reconcile data between the HRIS and payroll systems.
- Partner with HR and Finance on payroll balancing, reporting, and coordination with site time and attendance administrators.
- Support HR with administering and calculating annual and ad hoc employee payouts (e.g., vacation, quarterly and annual bonuses).
- Respond promptly and professionally to payroll inquiries from employees and managers.
- Serve as the primary contact for the external payroll partner (ADP), ensuring accurate payroll processing and advising on required system updates or changes.
- Communicate payroll issues or concerns to appropriate stakeholders and escalate complex matters as needed.
- Oversee and coordinate year-end payroll activities and support internal and external payroll audits.
- Ensure all payroll processes and documentation comply with SOX requirements.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform additional payroll and administrative support duties as needed.
About You
The following will be critical to successfully performing this role:
- University degree or college diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) or Payroll Leadership Professional (PLP) preferred.
- 5-7 years of payroll processing and time & attendance experience.
- Proficient in MS Office, including Excel.
- High attention to detail and analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate with internal and external partners.
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet tight payroll deadlines.
- Previous experience in a mining environment an asset, or within a 24/7 operation with multiple shifts/rotations.
- Previous experience in both Canadian and US payrolls.
- Previous experience in ADP payroll an asset.
- Previous experience in SAP SuccessFactors an asset.
