Direct oversight of plant operations and organizational processes, quality, productivity, cost, efficiency, and improvement. Provides guidance for plant work force and implements process improvements. Leadership to resolve opportunities in operations and maintenance groups. This position provides technical support for all departments and programs.
- Strong leadership to ensure all current operations comply with regulations set forth by all government agencies.
- Ensures compliance with safety, personnel, timekeeping, payroll, attendance and other plant procedures or guidelines.
- Able to make important policy, planning, and strategy decisions.
- Oversee, implement, and review operational policies and procedures.
- Assist with interviewing candidates when necessary.
- Help promote a company culture that encourages top performance and high morale.
- Assist budgeting, reporting, planning, and auditing.
- Build alliances and partnerships with other facilities.
- Support worker communication with the management team.
- Direct oversight of Maintenance, Production, Automation, and Quality Departments
- Works with each direct report, where applicable, to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff.
- Reviews and approves process changes as required by the engineering and Management of Change program. Long-term planning to create initiatives that further the company’s overall goals
- Coordinate different teams to foster exchange of ideas and provide cross-team learning opportunities.
- Inspiring and motivating employees to perform at their best through positive encouragement and incentive initiatives.
- Identifying potential opportunities and work to find solutions in order to maximize efficiency.
- Establishes goals and objectives which are specific, measurable, achievable, and relevant.
- Identifying opportunities to expand or shift course in order to take advantage of changes in production.
- Provides problem solving for plant process operation.
- Provides input for the development of operating procedures and business documentation systems.
- Summarizes the plant business highlights in quarterly, mid-year, and yearly reports.
- Will supervise 6-12 Management personnel and additional contractors as needed.
- Supports management with special projects and workflow process improvements and other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor degree in engineering or related field required.
- 5 to 10 years of experience as an engineer or manager in plant/process environment.
- Equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- May sit or stand for extended amount of time.
- May work outdoors which may include extreme working conditions and inclement weather conditions.
- As needed, lifts, carries or otherwise moves and positions objects weighing up to 35 pounds.
- Must be able to work in confined spaces and in elevated work areas.
- Must be able to handle working with petroleum coke products and use respiratory protection
- Able to work in dusty environment
- Must be able to work with hand tools
- Must train in safety requirements at the facility.
- Must be required to move about to coordinate work.
- Work may require occasional weekend and/or nights.
- Must be able to travel as needed
- Will be on call as needed
- Ability to communicate or exchange ideas by means of verbal or written word to impart information to contractors and to convey detailed Instructions to other workers.
