South Adams County Water & Sanitation is dedicated to providing reliable, affordable, and sustainable water resources and services in order to protect public health, the environment, and quality of life, is seeking an individual at its Wastewater Treatment Plant for the position of Industrial Waste Inspector/Pretreatment Technician.
This position visits the District’s industrial users and gathers field information necessary for the implementation of the Pretreatment Program including:
- Industrial facility inspections – physical site visit and survey completion
- Education of discharge regulations and permitting requirements to businesses
- Assist with the preparation of routine discharge permits
- Reporting, to ensure compliance with the District permit and regulations.
- Prepare and issue letters of violation and corrective correspondence
- Assist in coordination of system pollutant source investigations
- Sampling and Flow monitoring
Qualified candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Physical, biological, or environmental studies desirable. A valid, current Colorado Driver’s License, is required.
Prior experience in industrial pretreatment, wastewater/water operations, environmental or a related regulatory field is necessary. Working knowledge of local, state and federal environmental regulations helpful. Prior inspections experience a plus.
Proficient computer skills including knowledge of Word and Outlook, with strong Excel skills. Solid organizational, communication, customer service, problem solving and writing skills required. Must be detail oriented. Strong math and analytical skills desired.
This position is primarily a field position which requires work in a variety of locations and conditions.
Successful candidate will be required to complete a drug screen and background check prior to employment.
