The Electrical Coordinator 3 ensures that electrical work within power plant environments is executed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with all applicable codes and standards. - Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related technical field (required)

- Experience coordinating electrical work in industrial, utility, or power plant environments
- Strong working knowledge of medium-voltage and high-voltage installation, commissioning, and checkout procedures
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and environmental compliance requirements affecting electrical work
- Familiarity with the National Electric Code (NEC), electrical safety standards, and utility construction practices
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, lump-sum agreements, bid processes, and contractor oversight
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, single-line diagrams, relay protection diagrams, equipment specifications, and construction plans
- Working knowledge of best practices for conduit routing, cable tray installation, support systems, grounding, and cable-pulling operations
- Strong problem-solving ability with the capacity to provide technical guidance and field-based solutions

- Promote and actively contribute to a strong safety-first culture; enforce all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate and manage electrical activities for construction, maintenance, system upgrades, and modernization initiatives within power generation and distribution facilities
- Develop, maintain, and monitor detailed project documentation, including schedules, budgets, scopes of work, material lists, and resource plans
- Ensure all electrical installations meet the quality expectations outlined in project plans, technical specifications, NEC requirements, Southern Company standards, and other applicable industry codes
- Interface regularly with project managers, construction coordinators, discipline leads, contractors, engineering teams, and external stakeholders to maintain alignment and workflow efficiency
- Support the administration of electrical contracts, including lump-sum contracts; assist with reviewing contractor performance, adherence to contract documents, and change management
- Identify electrical installation problems or discrepancies in the field, support root cause analysis, and ensure effective corrective measures are implemented by contractors or craft labor
- Attend and participate in project meetings including pre-bid reviews, pre-mobilization sessions, contractor orientations, job safety briefings (JSB), progress updates, and coordination meetings
- Ensure strict compliance with all electrical safety regulations, environmental guidelines, and operational requirements
- Maintain thorough knowledge of electrical codes, best practices, construction methods, and evolving industry standards relevant to medium- and high-voltage systems
- Oversee and support quality control inspections for all electrical components, equipment assemblies, cable systems, and terminations
- Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities for electrical systems, ensuring all tasks are executed efficiently and documented properly
- Support troubleshooting of electrical systems, equipment failures, or unusual operating conditions, ensuring that issues are promptly stabilized and resolved
- Plan, coordinate, and support system upgrades such as substation enhancements, installation of new control systems, modernization of relay equipment, integration of renewable sources, or replacement of aging infrastructure
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation including system drawings, equipment specifications, inspection records, maintenance logs, contractor reports, and testing documentation
- Assist in ensuring proper installation techniques for conduit systems, cable trays, supports, grounding systems, and large cable-pulling operations
- Provide on-site technical support and guidance to field personnel, helping resolve construction conflicts, technical questions, and installation challenges
