CHP Energy Services is seeking an experienced Day Shift CNC Machinist to operate a Chevalier FBL-5100C CNC lathe equipped with Fanuc controls, machining drill pipe connections, BHA components, and API connections.

This position supports oilfield manufacturing operations and requires strong setup capability, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain consistent production while meeting API specifications, quality standards, and shop safety requirements.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with API threading, understands oilfield tolerances and thread geometry, and can independently set up and run jobs on Fanuc-controlled CNC lathes.

Responsibilities

- Set up and operate Chevalier FBL-5100C CNC lathe (Fanuc control)

- Machine API drill pipe connections, BHA components, and subs

- Perform complete job setups including chucking, tooling, offsets, and program verification

- Verify and maintain correct API thread forms, tapers, lead, and gauge fit

- Adjust wear offsets and tooling to maintain repeatability and tolerance control

- Perform in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and API thread gauges

- Maintain required surface finish and dimensional accuracy per API specifications

- Identify tooling, program, or machine issues and report to supervision

- Complete production and inspection documentation accurately

- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work environment

- Follow all company safety and quality control procedures

Requirements

- 1+ years CNC lathe experience (oilfield machining required)

- Experience operating Fanuc-controlled CNC machines

- Proven experience machining and gaging API connections

- Knowledge of drill pipe, BHA, and sub machining processes

- Ability to read blueprints, API specifications, and job travelers

- Strong understanding of feeds, speeds, insert selection, and tool wear management

- Ability to hold tight tolerances and maintain repeatability

- Dependable attendance and ability to work full day shift schedule

- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience running Chevalier FBL-5100C

- Experience with Doosan Puma 5100 / 5100L / 5100LC

- Familiarity with 4140, 4145, 4330, and high-strength alloy tubing

- Mastercam programming or editing experience
