AutoCAD Sheet Metal Detailer

Grating Pacific is actively seeking a AutoCAD Sheet Metal Detailer to join our Southern California team. We are the Western United States’ premier metal fabricator for industrial flooring and architectural metals. Position Duties

- Use Inventor and AutoCAD to create working Sheet Metal, Miscellaneous Metals, and Bar Grating shop drawings specific to our production process in both 2D and 3D environments.

- Work with steel fabricator shop drawings, architectural design drawings, structural design drawings, and CSI 3 part specifications, to ensure compliance with project requirements.

- Assist sales team in managing detailing projects from start of detailing process, through approval process, and into final production.

- Conduct quality checks on completed drawings to identify errors or discrepancies.

- Maintain organized files and records of all CAD drawings and related documents.

- This is an in-person role. Remote work is not available.

Required Skills and Experience

- 5+ years of experience in 3D and 2D CAD software such as Inventor and AutoCAD. - 5+ years of experience in Sheet Metal trades.

- Experience in Steel Fabrication trades.

- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and techniques.

- Knowledge of CSI 3 part specification, architectural design drawings, structural design drawings, and AWS weld symbols.

- Knowledge of building codes and regulations.

- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in drafting work.

- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.

- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues.

- Effective communication skills to interact with engineers, designers, and other team members.

Preferred Skills and Experience

- Experience with CNC laser cutting and press brakes

- Experience in the construction industry.

- Previous experience in reading construction drawings and other related building industry documents.

- Experience with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excell, Planner, Teams).

- Proficient in Bluebeam Revu

- Experience with Trumpf TruTops Boost software.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
