Project Manager (Sheet Metal Fabrication)

Lawrence Fabrication is a sheet metal fabrication company serving manufacturing companies across a wide range of industries in SC and throughout the US. We provide metal fabrications from large to small projects made from carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminum. We are looking for an experienced Project Mgr with a firm understanding of the metal industry and metal fabrication.

The Project Manager’s responsibilities:

- Maintain a strong relationship with customers and develop a comprehensive understanding of their needs and expectations.

- Review and interpret CAD, PDF, SolidWorks or other files to accurately determine material, labor and other requirements

- Prepare competitive, accurate and profitable quotes for the fabrication of metal products and any secondary operations or outsourced parts/services

- Manage changes and update quotes/orders when required

- Maintain strong communication and work closely with the management, production and office teams

- Purchase materials, hardware, other purchase items or outsourced parts from vendors and suppliers

Candidates must have the following education, experience and skills:

- 10 years of project management experience with cross-functional teams in a metal fabrication or manufacturing company/industry

- Strong knowledge base in all areas of metal fabrication manufacturing processes including (but not limited to): laser cutting, forming, welding, machining.

- Proficiency with SolidWorks and CAD software

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to make important project-related decisions under pressure

- Able to read and understand manufacturing drawings and tolerances

- Knowledge of standard fabrication practices and various metal types

- Team player, motivator, planner and problem solver

- Organization and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks while working independently
