The duties of the role per the IBEW Collective Agreement are as follows:
* Responsible for work planning and scheduling for a designated Stations coverage area
* Develops work plans, schedules and procedures for the crews as well as arranges for materials, tools, services and equipment
* They work with the appropriate departments and positions to determine planning requirements, including crew availability/expertise, safety, environmental, and other business considerations
* They are a subject matter expert in the use of outage scheduling tools and plant operation software
* They perform scenario analysis to determine the optimal time, resource and outage combinations to perform work
* They may be authorized and assigned the duties to create, adjust, and cancel outages in the Outage Management Systems
* Journey level trades qualification as either an Electrician (including a Generation Plant Operator with electrical qualification), a Mechanic (with a machinist or millwright trades qualification); a General Tradesperson 1 with electrical experience in Generation/Transmission stations and who can demonstrate electrical understanding; or a journeyperson CPC Technologist
* Prior maintenance planning and scheduling experience is an asset
* Advanced computing skills with demonstrated ability working in an Enterprise Asset Management System (PassPort / Maximo / SAP); Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Project are required and will be assessed through a computer exam
* Ability to coordinate work plans and schedules between multiple trades and headquarters
* Excellent interpersonal and facilitation skills with proven ability to influence without authority
* Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Excellent organizational skills with an ability to prioritize competing assignments
* A valid Class 5 BC Driver’s license is required
* In the event there are no applicants within qualification, we may consider applicants that have a minimum of six years experience working in an Electric utility; preference will be given to applicants with an electrical background, who have experience in one, or more of the following aspects: designing, installing, operating, maintaining, testing, or planning work on medium and high voltage electrical equipment

* This position supports Horne Payne CPC and may be headquartered at Horne Payne Office or Coquitlam DO, subject to space availability.
* Regular travel within the region is required which may require overnight stays.
* Backfill coverage and support for other Area Planner/Schedulers is required.
* Facilitation of planning, scheduling, and dispatch meetings is required.
* A written quiz covering technical, safety and administrative skills will form part of the selection process.
