The Application Administrator II is responsible for the daily administration, configuration, and operational support of enterprise applications, with primary focus on the ServiceNow platform. This role ensures application stability, security, performance, and availability while supporting integrations, deployments, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Application Administrator II applies best practices for reliability, automation, monitoring, and compliance to meet business and audit requirements.
Essential Job Functions include, but are not limited to the following:

- Serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for at least one complex enterprise application, providing advanced administration, troubleshooting, and operational support; acts as backup support for additional enterprise applications as assigned.
- Implements automation and operational efficiencies to support ongoing application administration, maintenance, and monitoring while working toward expanded certifications or specialty knowledge across multiple enterprise platforms.
- Administers the full application technology stack, including:
- - Security configuration and access management
- Platform patching, upgrades, and maintenance
- Deployment of custom-developed and third‑party applications or enhancements
- Proactively monitors platform usage, capacity, and performance, reviewing usage reports, storage limits, and system metrics to anticipate growth, risks, and integration impacts.
- Configures application settings, workflows, and services within the broader integrated application ecosystem, ensuring alignment with architectural standards and documenting configurations, integrations, and dependencies.
- Administers and maintains application security and integration points, ensuring compliance with internal controls, security standards, and audit requirements.
- Develops, maintains, and updates technical and operational documentation; participates in project planning and change activities affecting applications or integrations.
- Provides application expertise, training, and support to end users and IT team members while promoting platform sustainability and reducing technical debt.
- Leads small to medium single‑application initiatives or enhancements, coordinating planning, testing, deployment, and cross‑functional resources as required.
- Performs quarterly access reviews and supports annual audit activities, providing required documentation and evidence.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

- Bachelor’s Degree is not required
Equivalent hands‑on experience administering enterprise applications may be substituted for formal education.
- 2–4 years of experience supporting, administering, and configuring the ServiceNow platform or a comparable enterprise application.
- ServiceNow Certification is required or strongly preferred:
- - Certified System Administrator (CSA) (required or must be obtained within a defined period after hire)
- Certified Application Developer (CAD) (nice to have)
- Demonstrated experience with core ServiceNow administration, including:
- - User, group, and role management
- Access Controls (ACLs)
- Forms, lists, UI policies, and basic Service Catalog configuration
- Workflow Editor or Flow Designer (basic to intermediate)
- Working knowledge of ServiceNow scripting, including:
- - Client Scripts and Business Rules
- Script Includes (entry‑level)
- JavaScript fundamentals
- Experience supporting IT Service Management (ITSM) processes such as:
- - Incident, Problem, Change, Request, and Knowledge Management
- Familiarity with ServiceNow environment management, including:
- - Update sets and deployment between environments
- Supporting upgrades and patching activities
- Basic release and change coordination
- Exposure to integrations and data management, including:
- - Import sets and transform maps
- REST or SOAP interfaces (read/write or troubleshooting)
- LDAP or SSO authentication concepts (preferred)
- Understanding of ITIL / ITSM concepts and best practices
- - ITIL Foundation certification is a plus but not required
- Ability to troubleshoot application issues, follow established standards, document solutions, and escalate complex problems as needed.
