Toledo Iron Works is a fourth-generation, family-owned company with over 50 years of experience in the fabrication of high-end custom ornamental and architectural metalwork. We work on luxury residential and commercial properties, producing everything from custom railings and stair structures to glass-and-metal cladding and driveway gates.

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable, detail-driven Accounts Receivable Clerk to oversee billing operations, client invoicing, and collections. This role ensures accurate, timely issuance of invoices, monitors aging reports, follows up on outstanding balances, and maintains excellent communication with clients to support healthy cash flow and financial tracking.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and send accurate client invoices based on project milestones, purchase orders, and contracts

- Post customer payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions accurately

- Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and follow up on overdue balances

- Communicate with clients and internal project managers to resolve billing discrepancies

- Maintain organized digital records of billing, receipts, and correspondence

- Coordinate lien releases and waivers for construction-related billing

- Process and track change orders and billing adjustments as needed

- Reconcile customer accounts and ensure clean closing of invoices

- Prepare regular AR reports and forecasts for management

- Support collections process with tact and professionalism

Qualifications

- 3+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable or billing

- Construction or project-based AR experience is highly preferred

- Strong understanding of progress billing, AIA forms, and retainage

- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems (Sage 50 or similar

- preferred)

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple accounts simultaneously
