The Workforce Development & Apprenticeship Coordinator is responsible for managing, administering, and expanding apprenticeship and workforce development initiatives across all Coutts Companies, including Pine Tree Fence, Quirion, and Coutts Brothers. This role ensures apprentices are properly enrolled, supported, tracked, and reported in compliance with state apprenticeship requirements while also developing new apprenticeship pathways aligned with current and future workforce needs.
This position works closely with HR, internal leadership, affiliated organizations, educational institutions, and industry associations to secure high-quality training opportunities, strengthen career pathways, and build a sustainable talent pipeline. The role also provides HR support as needed, contributing to administrative, recruiting, payroll, and special projects.
- Manage the apprenticeship program across all Coutts Companies, including Pine Tree Fence, Quirion, and Coutts Brothers.
- Enroll new apprentices and ensure onboarding and registration requirements are completed accurately and on time.
- Design, develop, and implement new apprenticeship programs and career pathways aligned with business needs.
- Attend career fairs, community events, and outreach opportunities to showcase apprenticeship programs and promote workforce opportunities.
- Partner with affiliated organizations, trade groups, schools, and industry associations to secure valuable training and development opportunities.
- Track apprentice progress, competencies, work hours, and assigned tasks across all participating companies.
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with state apprenticeship standards and reporting requirements.
- Prepare and submit required reports to the state and other governing agencies.
- Monitor documentation, audits, and deadlines to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Manage learning platforms and training systems used by apprentices, including course assignments and completion tracking.
- Coordinate classroom, online, and on-the-job training components with internal leaders and external training providers.
- Support apprentices in understanding expectations, milestones, and program requirements.
- Work closely with the HR team to support workforce and people initiatives across the organization.
- Provide administrative support to HR as needed, including documentation, data entry, and employee records.
- Assist with recruiting efforts, including candidate coordination, interview scheduling, and onboarding support.
- Provide limited payroll support as assigned, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Participate in HR-led special projects as needed.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for apprentices, supervisors, and training partners.
- Support supervisors in managing apprentice development, expectations, and performance.
- Address questions, concerns, and challenges in a timely and professional manner.
- Identify opportunities to improve apprenticeship, workforce development, and HR processes.
- Provide insights and recommendations to HR leadership to strengthen workforce planning and development strategies.
- Experience in workforce development, apprenticeship coordination, training administration, or HR support preferred.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Experience with learning management systems, HRIS platforms, or compliance tracking tools.
- Strong communication skills and comfort working with internal and external partners.
