PURPOSE:

This position manages all warehouse locations and personnel at the Porter Plant. The position is responsible to manage and control all aspects of the warehouse.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Complies with any applicable federal, state and local laws regarding materials handling

- Comply with all safety policies and procedures including use of proper PPE, safe walking surfaces, proper shelf loading and integrity, and safe operation of equipment

- Ensure that stock and non-stock equipment and parts are delivered or staged properly for unit turnarounds, equipment repairs, and daily maintenance activities

- Manage activities of warehouse assistants, ensuring proper procedures are followed

- Provide development opportunities to warehouse assistants, utilizing on the job and external training, to ensure that best practices are in place

- Partner with departments to adjust reorder points and carrying levels, based on usage and lead time

- Partner with departments to ensure critical spare parts are identified and properly stocked

- Partner with departments to maintain equipment Bills of Material

- Establish new stock part descriptions and numbers in SAP

- Conduct regular cycle counts, reconciling differences

- Identify and disposes of obsolete and slow-moving parts inventory

- Manage shipping and receiving of parts in a timely fashion

- Communicate effectively with suppliers and sales representatives

- Communicate effectively with stock and non-stock internal customers

- Ensure that all parts are properly labeled including details and descriptions

- Must be willing to be on Weekend and Holiday rotational environmental coverage that requires daily plant visits during coverage days


QUALIFICATIONS

- High school diploma or GED

- Bachelor degree preferred

- 5+ years prior warehouse/materials management experience in manufacturing environment - 2+ years prior supervisory/management experience preferred


SKILLS:

- Good communications skills demonstrated by the ability to write reports and correspondence

- Excellent computer skills, demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office, JD Edwards & SAP

- Demonstration of effective leadership and teamwork skills

- Capability of working with all levels of the organization

- Must be self-motivated
