Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Tool Die Maker to join our manufacturing team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for designing, building, maintaining, and repairing precision tools, dies, molds, and fixtures used in manufacturing processes. Your expertise will directly impact the quality and efficiency of our production lines, ensuring that all tooling meets rigorous standards for accuracy and durability. - Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and CAD models using AutoCAD and SolidWorks to develop detailed tool designs.
- Program CNC machines, including CNC lathe and CNC milling machines, to produce precise tooling components.
- Support the production department with repairing and maintaining dies for the stamping department
- Operate electrical discharge machining (EDM) equipment to craft complex shapes with high accuracy.
- Fabricate and assemble tooling parts utilizing hand tools, welding techniques, and fabrication skills.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and dial gauges to verify dimensions and ensure adherence to specifications.
- Conduct troubleshooting, repairs, and modifications on existing tools and dies to optimize performance.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to develop tooling solutions for plastics injection molding and stamping presses.
- Maintain detailed documentation of schematics, machining processes, and inspection reports for quality control purposes.
- Follow safety protocols and ensure all equipment is operated in compliance with industry standards.
- Proven experience as a Tool Die Maker or in a similar machining or fabrication role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with expertise in machining operations such as CNC programming, milling, turning, welding, and fabrication.
- Proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for designing tooling components.
- Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles to ensure precise measurements and tolerances.
- Hands-on experience with electrical discharge machining (EDM), CAM programming, and plastics injection molding processes is highly desirable.
- Ability to read schematics, technical drawings, and electrical diagrams accurately.
- Skilled in using precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, micrometers, and dial indicators.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes related to stamping presses and other metal forming equipment.
- Strong math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, and machining parameters.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination along with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
