7:30AM-4:30PM Mon-Thu, 7:30AM-1:45PM FriJob Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tool and Die Maker to join our team at BEX Engineering. As a Tool and Die Maker, you will be responsible for designing, building, and repairing various types of tools, dies, and fixtures used in our production processes. The successful candidate will possess strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently to ensure that our manufacturing processes operate at optimal efficiency.
- 5+ years of experience in tool and die making, with a proven track record of designing and building high-quality tools and dies.
- Experience using EDM machines.
- Strong technical skills in manual and automated machining, precision measurement, and blueprint reading.
- Proficiency with CAD software and other design tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and repair complex tools and dies.
- Proficiency with CNC programming software such as Mastercam is an asset, not a requirement.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with production teams and management.
- Willingness to work consistent hours with occasional overtime.
- Interpret and analyze technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to design and build high- quality tools, dies, and fixtures.
- Set up and operate a variety of manual and automated machines, such as EDM, lathes, grinders, drill presses, and milling machines, to shape and finish metal parts.
- Use precision measuring tools, such as micrometers, gauges, and calipers, to ensure that components meet required specifications and tolerances.
- Troubleshoot and repair damaged or worn tools and dies, and modify existing designs to improve functionality or efficiency.
- Collaborate with production teams to identify and resolve tooling and equipment issues, and recommend modifications to improve production quality and efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including tool and die specifications, maintenance schedules, and repair history.
- Follow all safety protocols and company policies, and adhere to quality standards and production schedules.
