About the Role

Mapes Industries is seeking a Technical Sales Estimator to support our growing customer base through accurate project quoting and exceptional service. This role works closely with architects, subcontractors, and contractors to provide product recommendations and detailed cost estimates.

Responsibilities

Job Quoting & Technical Analysis

- Respond to incoming quote requests from architects, subcontractors, and other customers.

- Review drawings and project requirements to develop accurate cost estimates.

- Recommend product options based on project needs and pricing considerations.

- Identify labor, materials, lead times, and shipping needs by reviewing specifications and documents.

Customer Relationship Management

- Maintain strong, positive customer relationships with a focus on solutions and service.

- Provide clear and timely communication, including detailed quotes and project updates.

- Listen to customer needs and offer informed, helpful recommendations.

- Manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong attention to deadlines.

Communication & Technical Skills

- Communicate technical concepts clearly, both verbally and in writing.

- Demonstrate strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities.

- Review drawings, specifications, and data with a high degree of accuracy.

- Work with computers and drawings for extended periods.

Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent required; construction management, engineering technology, or similar coursework is a plus.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, in a work environment.

- Strong organizational and time-management skills.

- 1+ year of customer relationship management experience (required). - 1+ year of technical sales estimating, construction job quoting, or related experience (required).
