Manufacturing Estimator & Continuous Improvement Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Estimator & Continuous Improvement Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for estimating and quoting stamping/manufacturing jobs while also supporting continuous improvement efforts on the production floor. No formal degree required — experience in manufacturing, stamping, or process improvement is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

- Estimating & Quoting

- Review customer prints, CAD files, and specifications

- Calculate material usage, labor, setup, cycle times, and overall job cost

- Prepare accurate quotes and pricing proposals

- Work with suppliers to obtain updated material and outside processing costs

- Maintain pricing records and update estimate templates as needed

- Continuous Improvement

- Identify opportunities to improve workflow, reduce waste, and increase efficiency

- Support tooling setup improvements, faster changeovers, and better process reliability

- Assist with root cause analysis, corrective actions, and problem solving

- Help implement 5S, Lean, and process improvement activities

- Work alongside production personnel to improve throughput and reduce scrap

- General Duties

- Communicate with customers as needed to clarify requirements

- Support job launch documentation such as setup sheets and work instructions

- Work with production and engineering to ensure smooth job transitions

Qualifications

- Required:

- Experience in manufacturing, metal stamping, or a related environment

- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and tolerances

- Strong math skills and understanding of manufacturing processes

- Computer proficiency (Excel, ERP/MRP experience a plus)

- Good communication and organizational skills

- Preferred (Not Required):

- Experience with estimating or quoting manufacturing work

- Exposure to Lean, 5S, Kaizen, or continuous improvement methods

- Background in stamping, tooling, or fabrication

Pay will be based on prior experience.

Leitchfield, Kentucky, in Grayson County, is 49 miles SE of Owensboro, Kentucky (center to center) and 61 miles SW of Louisville, Kentucky. Other nearby cities include Bowling Green and Elizabethtown.Located between Nolin Lake and Rough River Dam State Park and near Mammoth Cave National Park. The land provides wildlife, fishing, hiking, camping, boating, and swimming.Colleges and universities that offer courses for higher studies include the Elizabethtown Community College (branch location in Leitchfield), Western Kentucky University, University of Louisville, and Jefferson Community College.
