We are seeking a dedicated Safety Supervisor to lead the implementation of Enbridge’s Safety Management Framework across US GTM Projects. - Ensuring organizational objectives are translated into the team's activities and ensuring integration with the work of other internal and external stakeholders.
- Represents the team and the enterprise on external task forces, partner working groups and with regulators and/or with the public and local/state authorities in the event of an incident.
- Maintaining a strategic network of external consultants and contractors, using this network to supplement internal resources.
- Continuously evaluate and provide input on safety and health programs to ensure that programs are effectively protecting company employees, contractors and the public. Implement processes to communicate best practices and lessons learned to all teams, both company and contractor.
- Remain current on emerging issues for safety and health, including regulatory developments, union requirements and legal matters.
Provides specialist technical support to US GTM Projects by:
- Providing technical direction to the team in the design and adaptation of the corporate program to business and operational realities within Projects Safety to ensure alignment between philosophies, goals and outcomes, e.g., developing and implementing project specific safety management plans and objectives, influencing contract negotiations to maximize safety considerations.
- Overseeing technical processes and solutions with regards to assessing, monitoring, reporting and implementing design and construction safety hazards and performance during project development and construction, e.g., HAZOPS, hazard assessments, coordinating incident investigation processes, ensuring integration of learnings into appropriate Safety Management Programs.
- Overseeing the resourcing and optimization of qualified contract safety personnel to develop and implement the construction safety management plan for specific project needs, e.g., consultants, safety supervisors, safety inspectors and advisors.
- providing support, assistance and leadership to other internal staff to facilitate business initiatives and legal compliance, e.g., GTM, Safety & Reliability etc.
- Overseeing the assessment of the contractor safety performance program, identifying trends and improvement opportunities and implementing corrective actions, adapting practices as required to address project-specific hazards.
- disseminate safety and health documentation, including company compliance procedures, risk assessment procedures, emergency management plans, accident investigation and root cause analysis procedures, and training programs.
- Maintain a safety and health metrics program that follows regulatory and corporate requirements. Effectively identify positive and negative performance trends.
- Participating in Project Safety and health committees.
- Direct preparation of the contractor safety prequalification process with Contract Management and field personnel
- Managing and performing People Leader responsibilities to include, but not be limited to management of resources, workforce planning, employee and contractor recruitment, staff retention, compensation planning, career coaching, ensuring of adherence of direct reports to company policies, Performance Management and Individual Development Plans and employee relations.
- Coaching/mentoring/motivating and positively influencing staff, contractors and partners in the fulfillment of responsibilities and the management of project safety.
- Leading and supporting internal and external safety committees, e.g., industry task forces, partner working groups, labor organization initiatives as appropriate to further leverage and enhance safety within the broader construction industry.
- Overseeing the development and implementation of safety communication and reporting protocols for internal and external partners, e.g., safety activities, incidents, safety performance results, etc.
- Leading and/or assisting with the continuous improvement of the Safety Management Program.
- Direct the Observation and Coaching program and H&S Auditing program. Develop and maintain a strong corrective action program in response to the findings and create a learning environment in an effort to ensure a safe workplace.
- Lead and execute other projects as identified by Project Management and the Project Safety Manager US.
- Degree, diploma or certificate in occupational, construction or industrial safety.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), or equivalent professional safety designation desirable.
- Knowledgeable in pipeline and oil and gas operations, hazards and safety management practices.
- Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible experience in occupational health and safety in an oil and gas or industrial construction environment.
- Further education, training or experience in auditing, compliance, and working with regulators would be an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to be innovative, tactical, initiate and manage change, work collaboratively, negotiate, influence without authority, facilitate, solve problems, make decisions, work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results.
- Proven interpersonal, communication, writing and computer skills.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
- Passport required for travel outside of country.

- Demonstrated ability to be innovative, initiate and manage change, and deliver results in a matrix environment.
- Office environment requiring extensive work on computers, networking with stakeholders, research of technical issues and development of plans and reports
- Frequent travel expectations (approx. 60%) for audits, reviews, inspections, meetings, training and field safety support as assigned.

Salary: Ranges from $112,500 - $146,300 based upon experience.
