The Supervisor of Construction Services
provides leadership and oversight for project controls, scheduling, forecasting and budgeting supporting transmission and distribution projects across the state. This role manages and provides operational support across the capital construction portfolio of projects and programs to ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively. Working closely with cross-functional teams and business unit stakeholders, the Supervisor ensures alignment with project objectives and operational priorities. The role also partners with Supply Chain Management to procure, administer, and manage major service contracts, ensuring compliance, performance, and value throughout the project lifecycle
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field plus of four (4) years experience in project management, design, Transmission & Distribution portfolio management, or construction/maintenance. In lieu of bachelors degree, combination of college coursework and experience in project management, design, or construction/maintenance totaling eight (8) years.
- Experience in an electric utility/transmission or distribution organization.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities and effective interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of budget development/process as well as expenditure tracking and monitoring.
- Expertise in project management and process improvement.
- Working knowledge of Maximo, EPMS, PowerPlan, and other computer software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
1) Manage comprehensive work plans and schedules including outside services and material requirements to ensure work is completed safely, timely, and cost effectively.
2) Manage and provide cost data parameters for budget forecasting of T&D capital projects and programs.
3) Manage and provide effective leadership to the Team to ensure group and team success, individual contribution and ensure that resolution of employee issues within the group is provided.
4) Develop strategic partnership with internal and external stakeholders. Collaborates across APS departments to align priorities and resolve issues.
5) Monitors departments budget and expenditures to ensure annual budgets are met.
6) Resolve differences by encouraging and practicing open communications and clarity of expectations.
7) Provide for accurate accounting and timely processing of invoices and accruals.
