The Projects Construction Supervisor will be responsible for providing construction oversight for mining capital projects. Ensure contractor work is executed safely, in compliance with approved designs, contracts, and regulations, while supporting schedule, quality, and operational readiness objectives. This role focuses on oversight and assurance, and does not typically self-perform construction, but provides field-level leadership, inspection, and interface management on behalf of SSR.
- Construction Oversight: Provide on-site oversight to ensure contractor work meets approved designs, contract requirements, and SSR standards, while monitoring safety, quality, schedule, and overall performance. Identify potential risks, constructability issues, and deviations, and escalate to the Project Manager.
- Safety Leadership and Compliance: Serve as a representative of SSR by ensuring contractor compliance with mine safety rules and regulations, participating in safety reviews and investigations, and exercising stop-work authority when unsafe conditions are identified
- Schedule Coordination: Monitor construction progress against the project schedule, coordinate contractor activities with mine operations to minimize impacts, and support sequencing, access planning, and construction coordination meetings
- Field Verification: Conduct field inspections and witness required tests to verify workmanship and material compliance, and support punch-list development and deficiency resolution
- Change Management: Identify and document potential scope changes and claims risks, provide field input to RFIs and change requests, and support dispute avoidance through early issue identification.
- Commissioning: Support completion and commissioning, verify readiness for operational turnover, and ensure completion of required documentation, as-builts, handover, and post-construction support. Including site management of change (MOC) and change management processes (CM)
- Collaboration: Work closely with operations, maintenance, and other engineering teams to support production goals and address potential issues.
- Education: High school diploma required, with technical/trade certification preferred
- Experience: Minimum of five years experienced in construction and/or operations is required
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of construction methods and sequencing, ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and contracts, familiar with EPC/EPCM project execution, and understanding of commissioning and operational handover. Demonstrate an ability to utilize drafting software (AutoCad) and project management tools (Smarsheets, MSProject, etc) and Microsoft Office products

- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with strong organizational and time management skills. Detail-oriented with strong documentation practices
- Safety-Oriented: A strong commitment to safety, with experience in conducting safety audits and ensuring compliance with all safety standards.
- Environment: This role involves working in both office and field environments, including outdoor work at mine sites with exposure to dust, noise, and varying weather conditions.
- Location: The Cripple Creek & Victor (CC&V) Mine site is located at elevations ranging from approximately 9,400 ft. to 10,600 ft. above sea level.
- Schedule: Standard: M-Th, 10hrs / day; may require extended hours, shift work, or rotational schedules
- Physical Demands: The role may require walking on uneven terrain, climbing ladders, and working at heights or in confined spaces.
