About Island Gold District: Alamos Gold’s Island Gold District will become one of the largest and lowest-cost gold mines in Canada. With the two mines within the district, Island Gold and Magino employ over 900 team members who work in the underground and open pit operations and are located in northern Ontario, just east of the town of Dubreuilville, 83 kilometres northeast of Wawa. The Site Services Supervisor will be responsible for supervision of a full range of surface maintenance, repair, and service activities at both the Island Gold and Magino sites, access and site roads, South Camp and North Camp facilities, and housing facilities. The incumbent will use considerable judgment in making decisions and be able to supervise all tasks in accordance with Alamos’ workplace safety rules and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Supervision/coordination of Site Services Leaders, Carpenters, Labourers, Heavy Equipment Operators and Camp Maintenance Technicians

- Supervision of road maintenance contractors (main access road, Island Gold site, Magino site, South Camp, North Camp)

- Conduct crew meetings, pre- and post-shift meetings, monthly safety meetings

- Coordinate and cooperate with other departments to ensure safe production, cost and other strategic objectives are met

- Supervision of water and sanitary waste haulage contractors

- Supervision of specialty contractors as needed

- Supervise, monitor, control and inspect construction and maintenance work to ensure work is tracked and in compliance with plans and specifications for codes, standards, and regulations

- Ensure proper safety measures and practices are in place throughout construction and maintenance

- Ensure necessary materials and tools are supplied and in good working order

Qualifications:

- Completion of a 4-year apprentice program OR a combination of 10 years’ carpentry-related work experience and high school, college, or industry courses

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs

- Possess a valid Canadian driver’s license and clear driver’s abstract

- Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team

- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

- Ability to thrive in an environment of change; must be creative and flexible

Working Conditions

- Schedule is 7 on/7 off (12 hour shifts)
