The Senior HVAC Service Technician – Estimating Track is an individual contributor responsible for advanced diagnostics, high-quality repairs, and preparing customer-ready estimates for repairs and system replacements. This role combines strong technical execution with clear customer communication and revenue generation.
- Diagnose, service, and repair residential HVAC systems including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers, and related components
- Perform advanced troubleshooting with minimal oversight
- Execute repairs according to manufacturer specifications, company standards, and local code
- Verify proper system operation and performance before job completion
- Maintain low callback rates through quality workmanship
- Present clear repair options and pricing using the company pricebook
- Prepare and explain estimates for major repairs and system replacements
- Identify replacement opportunities and properly escalate or originate replacement leads
- Accurately document estimates, recommendations, and customer decisions in ServiceTitan
- Support company revenue goals through ethical, transparent estimating (no high-pressure sales tactics)
- Communicate professionally and confidently with customers
- Explain technical findings in plain language
- Set appropriate expectations for scope, cost, and timeline
- Maintain high customer satisfaction and professionalism at all times- Commission + spiffs for replacement and service
- Hourly, non-exempt position
- Overtime eligible per labor law and company policy
- No profit sharing or management incentives tied to this role
This role is designed to reward technical excellence and estimating skill, not leadership authority. Advancement into management requires a separate role definition, compensation structure, and acceptance of additional responsibilities.
