If guiding a team through intricate welds on turbine and generator components sounds energizing, this foreman role is for you. You’ll own the plan, the execution, and the quality—while mentoring welders and partnering with Operations and Quality to deliver on schedule.
Lead people and processes to achieve precise, reliable welds on high-value components, safely and efficiently.
Daily plans executed: tasks assigned, resources aligned, and production goals met. Quality assured: welds meet manufacturer and company standards; records complete and accurate. Equipment and components handled expertly: disassembly/assembly, prep, blend, and material moves via forklifts/cranes. Continuous improvement: issues resolved with job site managers/supervisors and QC; processes refined. Safety and order: OSHA and company policies followed; work areas clean and compliant.
- Mentor and develop welders; set clear expectations and coach performance.
- Perform advanced TIG welding on INCO, Hastelloy X, stainless, and carbon steels.
- Inspect and sign off on weld quality; maintain all required documentation.
- Support other shop areas when needed.
- 5–10 years of welding experience preferred; proven leadership track record.
- Familiarity with the Power Generation industry preferred.
- Available for significant mandatory overtime during peak demand.
- Fixture assembly and utilization experience.
- Measurement accuracy with calipers, vernier calipers, ID/OD micrometers, etc.
- Read/interpret blueprints and technical specifications.
- Execute delicate, high-precision welds with minimal distortion.
- Specialty metals expertise (INCO, Hastelloy X, carbon, stainless steel, etc.).
- Metallurgy knowledge; skilled in setting up and operating welding equipment.
- Mechanical aptitude and strong written/verbal communication.
- Ability to anticipate change, organize workflows for efficiency, and communicate succinctly to drive outcomes.
- Excellent organizational skills and dependability.
- Physically able to stand/walk for long periods; frequent bending, reaching, lifting.
- Adherence to safety guidelines set by the customer and ARMS.
- OSHA 10 certification preferred; valid driver’s license required.
