Welding Shop Coordinator

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Welding Shop Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various welding techniques and a strong understanding of fabrication processes. As a Welding Shop Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating employee schedules, walking down jobs and creating drawings at various locations, coordinating with the Operations Manager to manage work flow, assembling and fabricating metal structures and components according to specifications, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.

Responsibilities

- Perform MIG, TIG, FCAW, and stick welding on various materials including sheet metal and pipe.

- Read and interpret blueprints, CWI, schematics, and ASME codes & standards to determine project requirements.

- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and machinery such as press brake machines for fabrication tasks.

- Conduct welding operations in compliance with safety regulations and best practices.

- Assemble components using mechanical knowledge and basic math skills for accurate measurements.

- Operate cranes and forklifts as needed for material handling and positioning.

- Execute pipe threading, ductwork assembly, rigging, and soldering tasks as required.

- Maintain a clean work environment and ensure all equipment is in good working condition.

Skills

- Proven experience in construction site environments with a focus on welding.

- Proficiency in MIG welding, TIG welding, FCAW, stick welding, and plasma cutting techniques.

- Familiarity with using calipers and micrometers for precise measurements.

- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively.

- Experience with fabrication processes including assembly of metal structures.

- Ability to read blueprints and schematics accurately.

- Knowledge of safety protocols related to welding and construction work.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
