We are looking for two Senior Design Analysts to join AESO’s Transformation Management Office (TMO). Reporting directly to the Manager, Business Design, you will help determine what business processes across the organization need to change and why. In this position, you will work across capability areas and facilitate sessions to map current- and future-state processes, identify gaps, and translate those gaps into actionable scopes of work. You ensure that future-state designs are operationally grounded, aligned with strategic objectives, and ready for handoff to TMO delivery planning. You may also support other internal TMO functions as needed to enable effective coordination, communication, and delivery of the transformation.

- Develop and maintain detailed process maps, workflows, and documentation to support AESO’s business design work.
- Ensure alignment of process designs with organizational strategy and regulatory requirements.
- Identify required work scopes for timely hand off to delivery planning.
- Work closely with business units, IT, and Design Office to gather requirements and validate design concepts.
- Lead or support workshop facilitations and assist with design sessions to ensure stakeholder alignment.
- Act as a liaison between internal technical and business teams to translate requirements into actionable designs.
- Prepare clear internal communications, board materials, and reporting to keep relevant stakeholders informed and engaged.
- Ensure all design activities adhere to AESO’s governance frameworks and compliance standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation for audits, regulatory reviews, and internal quality checks.
- Support risk identification and mitigation related to design and process changes.
- Identify and escalate key decision points, facilitating resolution to maintain governance integrity.
- A Degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in the electricity and power sector.- Familiarly with independent system operator capabilities. Understanding of Alberta Electric System Operator capabilities is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated experience with enterprise process design and strategy.
- Excellent project management skills with ability to prioritize to meet defined time lines, with conscientious attention to detail.
- Able to demonstrate previous experience with collecting, analyzing and evaluating complex information, and drawing logical conclusions.
- Proficiency in relevant project management and process mapping tools (ex. MS Project, MS Planner, Workday, Power BI).
