A Senior Designer supports engineering in the analysis, development, design, and evaluation of products being offered by his/her Product Group.
- Serves as lead design resource in the Product Group and as a mentor to less experienced design personnel.
- Works with Engineering to develop 2D and 3D conceptual drawings for sustaining engineering efforts and/or new product development.
- Works with Engineering to suggest design alternatives for conceptual designs.
- Develops detailed 2D and 3D fabrication drawings for sustaining engineering efforts and/or new product development.
- Participate in formal design reviews to evaluate conceptual and detailed designs.
- Performs final drafting checks to minimize drawing errors and omissions.
- Works with Engineering and Operations to resolve design-related issues detected during product realization efforts.
- Assists Engineering to develop and maintain 2D and 3D drafting standards that meet or exceed Customer expectations.
- Assists Engineering to develop and maintain an organized storage system to catalog and store 2D and 3D drawings.

- Able to understand and interact with technically oriented customers and product group resources.
- Ability to think creatively and to contribute to both strategic and tactical decisions.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency in English
- Advanced knowledge of Autodesk, AutoCAD, and Autodesk Inventor or other design software.
- 2+ year degree in drafting or related field experience. - 10+ years of experience working with applicable products in an Engineering or Design/Drafting capacity preferred.- Must be a team player that is flexible and adaptable, as well as action oriented.
- Passion for accuracy and efficiency
- Strong organization and time management and planning skills
- Exposure to certain contaminants, at times.
- Exposure to loud noise levels, at times.
- Duties performed in office, and production shop, with some outdoor exposure during the workday.
- Must wear required personal protective equipment when in designated areas.
- Standard office and warehouse equipment
- Occasional use of various hand tools and power tools.
- Stand, bend, sit, stoop, crawl, squat, kneel, lift and/or move up to 50 lbs., and walk for 8-10 hours per day.
- Regularly required to hear and talk.
- Must have the ability to see close up.
- Be able to withstand exposure to Production Environment.
- Be able to tolerate high noise levels with the protection of earplugs.
