The Senior Accounting Associate will support the internal consolidation and financial reporting process, including preparation of consolidated financial statements and the statement of cash flows. This role will have ownership of select profit and loss accounts, prepare journal entries and account reconciliations, ensure SOX compliance, and contribute to automation and process improvement initiatives. The role requires strong technical accounting skills, a finance‑minded and strategic approach, and the ability to leverage technology to drive efficiency and insight.
- Assist in the consolidation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including assisting with the preparation of the cash flow statements
- Prepare consolidation schedules, intercompany eliminations, and supporting analyses
- Prepare and post journal entries and accruals in accordance with GAAP
- Prepare and maintain account reconciliations for balance sheet and P&L accounts
- Own key income statement accounts, including but not limited to:
- - Operating expenses
- Gathering and transportation expense
- Perform monthly financial analysis and variance explanations
- Ensure adherence to SOX controls, internal accounting policies, and documentation standards
- Support internal and external audit requests
- Assist with automation, reporting enhancements, and process improvement initiatives
- Prepare ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to support management decision‑making
- CPA and Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3+ years of accounting, financial reporting, or public accounting experience- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial statements, and consolidations
- Experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, and month‑end close
- Finance‑ and strategy‑oriented mindset with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience with Power BI or similar analytics/visualization tools
- Comfort leveraging AI tools and emerging technologies in accounting and finance
- ERP and consolidation system experience preferred
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a deadline‑driven environment
- Commitment to continuous improvement and desire to be challenged professionally
