Job Summary
This position manages the financial affairs of the company and prepares financial analyses of operations, including interim and final financial statements with supporting schedules, for the guidance of management. The Accountant is responsible for implementing the company's financial plans and policies, its accounting practices, the conduct of its relationships with lending institutions and the financial community, the maintenance of its fiscal records, and the preparation of financial reports. The position involves oversight over general accounting, property accounting, internal auditing, cost accounting, and budgetary controls.
- Manager and perform the day-to-day activities involved in accounts payables, cash disbursements, deposits, invoicing/billing, extending customer credit and collections, fixed asset records, sales tax, general & entity accounting, and cost accounting.
- Assists CEO in development of and executes to ensure A/P payments and A/R collection activities are completed timely.
- Treasury management: Monitor daily cash activity and summarize cash/line of credit. Post ACH activity and wire transfers. Transfer funds as authorized/required.
- Develops accurate weekly reporting on net cash, A/R, line of credit, A/P, sales for President/CEO.
- Issue timely and accurate monthly financial reporting for the President/CEO, inclusive of averages, key indicators, and inventory summary.
- Manages and perform accurate month end reconciliations, adjustments, and closing process.
- Responsible for the consolidation of monthly measurements on a corporate wide basis. Executes timely and accurate measurements assigned by the CEO, works to automate and eliminate redundancy of information for the CEO, and completes other measures and analysis as directed.
- Assists CEO as directed to manage commercial banking relationships to facilitate appropriate credit resource under highly competitive terms. Ensure debt payments are made on a timely basis, information requests are satisfied.
- Assists CEO as directed to interface with outside audit firms(s), banks and lessors, credit card companies, and collection agencies.
- Maintain the chart of accounts, an orderly accounting filing system, and a documented system of controls over accounting transactions and procedures.
- Safeguard assets and assure accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing disciplines of internal audits, controls and checks.
- Assists CEO as directed to manage outsourced accounting/audit functions. Provide supporting detail to TPA for end of the year close out process and tax preparation.
- Assists CEO as directed to assure financial plans are consistent with organizational goals.
- Assists CEO as directed to provide financial analysis tools to evaluate company ventures or special projects, programs, capital expenditures, products costing, etc.
- Assists CEO as directed to forecast cash flow positions, related borrowing needs, and available funds for investments.
- Assists CEO as directed to ensure sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational and capital investment requirements.
- Assist with HR functions as directed including insurance, 401k, on boarding, off boarding, and systems.
- Executes payroll function with Great Plains Accounting Software. Completes all local, state, and federal government related reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Manages company IT issues with vendor.
- Leads budgeting and annual planning efforts to provide timely and accurate information to CEO. This includes but may not be limited to execution of proforma’s for income statement, cash flow and balance sheets, measuring plans to actuals, running plan scenario’s for core business/LLC’s, and initiatives as directed by the CEO.
- Manages company IT issues with vendor.
- Leads budgeting and annual planning efforts to provide timely and accurate information to CEO. This includes but may not be limited to execution of proforma’s for income statement, cash flow and balance sheets, measuring plans to actuals, running plan scenario’s for core business/LLC’s, and initiatives as directed by the CEO.
- Provides assistance and support to legal issues are required. Supports real estate sales/purchases, M&A, and lease agreements as necessary.
- Serves as project manager, and supports other company projects as assigned.
- Performs backup benefit administration, and insurances functions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Reports to CEO. Works closely with others in Order Logistics, Production, Maintenance, Sales, Order Logistics, and HR. Regular, daily contact with employees, customers and vendors, bankers, by phone, e-mail, and in person.

13. Ability to operate a variety of modern office equipment, computer terminals, utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, and PowerPoint software, and peripheral equipment such as facsimile machines, printers, scanners, and copiers.
14. Ability to perform detailed work accurately in compliance with stringent time limits with minimal direction or supervision.
15. Ability to work as a team, but also independently initiate, prioritize, perform or solve problems related to deviations in work assigned in order to meet fixed or fluctuating deadlines and achieve work objectives.

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or accounting preferred. CPA not required, but commitment in obtaining it over time is preferred.
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Project, Outlook), and advanced in Excel. Must have experience with computerized financial software systems (prefer Great Plains experience).
Proven project management, job costing and Great Plains GL experience is a plus.
Required valid driver’s license and insurability, and ability to travel by air to other locations.
The expected work week is estimated at 50 hours per week. Works mostly during regular office hours on weekdays. However, due to the nature of the position, being at work during these hours is critical as others depend on this position. May occasionally be required to work evening hours and occasional weekends. Travel will vary based on business needs.
