We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Accountant (or equivalent) to join our close knit family business. We want to add an experienced and detail oriented senior accountant to join our team. This isn't a one size fits all corporate position, the right person should be willing and able to wear multiple hats (as needed). - Prepare, analyze, and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger adjustments to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes using sage accounting software.
- Oversee payroll management
- Conduct detailed financial analysis to support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis activities. (Excel Maven)
- Documenting financial processes thoroughly.
- Assist with external audits by preparing audit schedules and supporting documentation for public accounting firms.
- Support benefits administration and non-profit accounting functions as needed, ensuring adherence to relevant regulations.
- Perform data entry tasks with precision, including processing journal entries and managing general ledger reconciliation across multiple systems
- Collaborate with colleagues
- Conduct detailed account reconciliation to identify discrepancies and ensure integrity of financial data.
- Support special projects and cross-functional initiatives
- Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or similar role within a corporate or public accounting setting. CPA preferred (bachelor's considered).
- Industry specific knowledge is a plus, but not mandatory
- Practical experience in technical accounting and financial concepts.
- Proficiency in Sage is essential.
- Experience with payroll management systems
- Demonstrated ability to perform account reconciliation, journal entries, and general ledger accounting accurately and efficiently.
- Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data for strategic decision-making.
- Strong attention to detail combined with excellent organizational skills; capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Knowledge of tax experience related to corporate or non-profit sectors is advantageous.
