The Isabella Pearl Mine is located at the West end of the Santa Fe mining district in the Walker Lane gold belt in Luning, Nevada, Mineral County.
The Security Technician is responsible to provide security guidance, controlling entry gate activity, answering calls, greeting and assisting visitors, training and support to the departments and personnel on the mine site.
· Responsible and accountable for the performance and compliance with mine site policies and procedures.
· Review and maintain Site Security procedures, guidelines and policies.
· Conduct random/scheduled security inspections throughout site locations including interacting with employees regarding security and safety concerns.
· Conduct random/scheduled searches of articles and personnel working in the refinery.
· Review/monitor security video cameras and recordings as required.
· Maintain/manage the site electronic security access system.
· Assist departments and management staff with their security needs.
· Attend Site Wide Departmental safety meetings providing employees with updates of company security activities.
· Assist supervision with incident investigation, incident record keeping and inform supervision of compliance issues.
· Conduct janitorial duties as required (Sweeping/Mopping floors, trash duty, making coffee etc.)
· Willing to work night shift for extended periods of time.
· Responsible and accountable for the performance, and compliance of mine site safety and environmental policies and procedures for all personnel and vendors
· Participate in Planned General Inspections when requested.
· Provide safety and environmental leadership by always setting a good example
· This role requires frequent interaction with all department employees, supervision, management and vendors to provide assistance, service, support and for problem resolution as needed
· Ability to build trust and develop positive working relationships with site personnel and regulatory agencies. Ability to provide strong leadership and act as an effective change agent.
· Ability to interaction with all departments or groups as needed, for problem resolution.
· 3 years of experience as a full-time security or law enforcement professional.
· Knowledgeable of current security technology and surveillance methods.
· Must be available for call out when needed.
· In depth experience with MSHA regulatory requirements preferred.
· Strong time management skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines
· Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motion
· Able to wear and demonstrate to employees the use of personal protective equipment including hardhat, steel toed footwear, safety glasses, ear plugs, gloves (rubber, leather & cloth), and/or any other equipment required to do the job assigned safely.
· Ability to climb & traverse muck piles, lift up to 50 lb., work in adverse seasonal weather conditions.
· Able to read and interpret various safety warning signs and product MSDS / SDS, tags, and labels.
· Ability to distinguish various colors as they relate to safety warning signs, tags and labels.
· Able to operate a telephone and mine phone/radio with sufficient voice and hearing to carry on a conversation for the purpose of communicating information, issuing directives and providing feedback, to management and subordinates.
· Ability to hear sufficiently to distinguish various pitches of warning alarms.
