Summary

Under supervision, oversee, facilitate, process and maintain accurate records for the yard of scrap materials received and/or shipped.

- Visually verify inbound/outbound vehicles on scale deck outside in the elements; enter weight in computer.

- Visually verify material type outside in the elements; enter code in computer.

- Process payment of customers, verify information is correct and material ticket for corresponding customer and price is correct.

- File appropriate paperwork to support scheduled payments to be made.

- Answer incoming calls; give directions, handle questions and or direct to appropriate area/person.

- Sort completed checks, distribute original to customer and maintain copies and backup for filing.

- Working outside in the elements.

- Other responsibilities as assigned.

Safety:

Wears all necessary PPE if they are in the yard. Follows company safety standards at all times. Failure to follow standards, may result in loss of position.

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED preferred but not required. Math aptitude necessary, must be able to multi-task when handling customers and vendors in person, on the phone, etc. Must have the ability to develop effective working relationships with customers and vendors. General knowledge of difference between ferrous and non-ferrous material preferred.
