In this role, you'll play a vital part in connecting residential and small business utility customers throughout Versant Maine's service territory, with the benefits of local community solar farms and helping home owners schedule rooftop solar consultations, while helping grow and lead a new outside sales team in the region.
Role type: Full time; Sales Representative Manager
- Market to predominantly residential customers (and some small business), helping customers lower energy costs
- Engage in upselling techniques to maximize sales opportunities (ie lower electric rates, rooftop consultations)
- Achieve individual standards with community solar enrollments & home solar leads
- Effectively utilize applications provided
- Teach scripts and techniques to new hires
- Eventually, lead a team of 5-7 Representatives
- Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction
- Base Salary ($33-45,000 annually) plus weekly commissions and team bonuses
- On-target sales earnings expected at $85,000 minimum to $160,000 year 1
- Team performance bonuses as the team expands

- Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle to get around Maine.
- Availability to travel 6+ days monthly (to south Maine for training, for example)- Minimum 2 years field sales experience; Some mentorship or sales leadership experience
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with diverse customers.
- Self-Motivated: A self-starter with the ability to work independently, handle rejection and manage time effectively.
- Flexibility: Willingness to learn new knowledge and skills, plus adapt to a dynamic and evolving industry.
