Position overview:
At American Tool & Die, the Sales Manager plays a critical role in driving revenue growth and expanding our customer base. You will lead business development initiatives, foster client relationships, and promote our precision manufacturing solutions to industries including aerospace, automotive, and more.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in machining or metal manufacturing, is located near Swansea, SC, and can report on-site regularly. A current book of business and a history of achieving sales targets are strongly preferred. This position offers a base salary with commission, both based on experience.
Key Responsibilities
•Sales Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement effective sales plans to meet or exceed revenue targets.
•Client Relationship Management: Cultivate long-term relationships with new and existing clients, providing exceptional service and support.
•Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within key industries, including aerospace, automotive, and manufacturing.
•Product Knowledge: Maintain a strong understanding of the company’s capabilities, including CNC machining, tool and die, and metal stamping processes.
•Territory Management: Serve customers across a defined geographic region, with regular reporting to the Swansea facility.
•Reporting & Forecasting: Track pipeline activity, prepare regular sales reports, and contribute to forecasting efforts.
•Collaboration: Work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure customer needs are met efficiently and accurately.
Qualifications
•Proven sales experience in manufacturing, machining, or metalworking industries.
•Strong knowledge of precision machining and custom fabrication is preferred.
•Located near Swansea, SC, with the ability to report to the facility regularly.
•A current book of business in relevant industries is strongly preferred.
•Exceptional communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
•Ability to work independently while coordinating with internal teams.
•Proficiency in CRM tools, Act! preferred, and Microsoft Office Suite.
•A bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field is a plus.
