Reporting to the Manager, Safety Audits and Certifications, the Safety Administrator will provide efficient, timely and professional administrative support to the internal Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) program. Preparation of safety shares, presentations and other business documents as required. Support the HSE operational management with document creation, policy and procedure revision and other project-based tasks. Conduct HSE Audit Reviews and feedback to employers/auditors.
- Provide administrative assistance with the creation and revision of documents, policies and procedures to support the internal health, safety and environment program
- Assist HSE quality assurance reviews on behalf of committee
- Participate in office based ergonomic assessments, table top drills, HSE Committee meetings and development of communications
- Participate in the development and implementation of ESC’s health and safety program and related training for the workplace environment. Participate in incident investigations as required. Participate in the management of the HSE inbox. Also, this role will assist with advising and providing recommendations for best safe work practices
- Other duties as required
- Certificate or (or working towards) diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, is required
- Experience working in an administrative role
- 1 year experience working in a health and safety role would be an asset
- Knowledge of health and safety programs
- Experience in SharePoint
- Proficient in MS Office Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint
- Experience in development of communications, policy and procedures
- Exemplary interpersonal skills and exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Goal oriented and enjoys the challenges of working under deadlines
- Demonstrates creativity and ability to rely on experience and knowledge to make decisions confidently
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Well organized and able to handle multiple tasks quickly and accurately
