At EPCOR, safety is foundational to everything we do. As a Health & Safety Intern, you’ll support the Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E) team by assisting with documentation, data management, communications, and continuous improvement initiatives that help protect employees, contractors, and the communities we serve.
This full‑time, paid summer internship provides hands‑on exposure to occupational health and safety practices in a regulated utility environment. You’ll work alongside experienced safety professionals, gain experience with industry‑standard systems and reporting tools, and build skills that support a future career in health, safety, or environmental management.

What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Assist with day‑to‑day administration of Health & Safety management systems and data platforms, including learning and information management tools
- Support the organization and maintenance of Health & Safety documentation, records, and historical files
- Assist with collecting information related to incident investigations and reviewing records for completeness
- Help prepare and distribute safety communications and bulletins
- Support the development and maintenance of Safety SharePoint sites and digital libraries
- Assist with documenting site inspections and tracking follow‑up actions
- Enter, track, and update action items related to hazard identification, inspections, and safety reports
- Support data entry, tracking, and reporting of Health & Safety metrics and key performance indicators
- Assist with scheduling, calendars, and notifications related to Health & Safety review cycles and initiatives
- Provide administrative and project support for ongoing Health & Safety programs and strategic initiatives
- Work collaboratively with Operations and Safety team members to communicate findings and support corrective actions
- Support other projects and responsibilities as requested
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health Sciences, Industrial Hygiene, Safety Management, or related program
- Interest in learning about health, safety, and environmental programs in a utility or industrial setting
- Basic understanding of workplace safety concepts, hazard identification, and risk management, or willingness to learn
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when working with data, documentation, and records
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Ability to learn and navigate new systems and software platforms
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Professionalism, reliability, and a collaborative, learning‑focused mindset
