Health and Safety Administrator

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Safety Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety protocols to ensure a secure working environment. This role requires a strong understanding of safety standards and the ability to promote a culture of safety excellence throughout the organization. The Safety Specialist will play a vital role in minimizing risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and fostering continuous safety improvements.

Duties

- Conduct regular safety inspections on sites to identify potential hazards and enforce safety policies.

- Develop and implement comprehensive safety programs tailored to specific project needs.

- Provide safety training sessions for staff and subcontractors to promote awareness and adherence to safety procedures.

- Investigate accidents or incidents, prepare detailed reports, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

- Collaborate with operations manager, crews, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with OH&S, Energy Safety Canada, Explosives Regulatory Division, Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission and other relevant standards.

- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, and incident reports.

- Stay updated on industry best practices, new safety regulations, and emerging hazards within the construction sector.

Skills

- Proven experience in an oilfield safety management or related field.

- Proficiency with Microsoft programs, ISN and Complyworks.

- Strong knowledge of OH&S regulations and other relevant safety standards.

- Excellent communication skills to effectively train teams and communicate safety policies.

- Ability to analyze complex situations quickly and develop practical solutions.

- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Pay: From $42,000.00 per year
