The Production Coordinator is responsible for managing job scheduling, technician assignments, and production flow in our aftermarket repair workshop. This role ensures customer commitments are met, production backlogs are balanced, and operations run efficiently and safely. The Production Coordinator works closely with Repair Coordinators, Technicians, Quality, and Logistics to communicate lead times, schedule impacts, and production priorities.
- Manage production schedules and release work orders to meet customer deadlines.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for technicians regarding job assignments and workflow coordination.
- Maintain accurate work order tracking and schedule alignment with shop capacity and customer requirements.
- Monitor job progress and adjust schedules to address delays or urgent repairs.
- Coordinate daily shop activities, optimizing workflow and resource utilization.
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager to track KPIs such as shop utilization, technician efficiency, and job turnaround times.
- Lead daily and weekly production meetings with shop and office personnel.
- Identify potential delays and communicate proactively with Repair Coordinators.
- Ensure accurate repair documentation, including work orders, parts usage, and job completion records.
- Oversee labor hour reporting to ensure proper allocation and job cost accuracy.
- Maintain quality oversight to ensure repairs meet company and customer standards.
- Promote communication and alignment across Repair Coordination, Quality, and Management teams.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, shop policies, and industry regulations.
- Support continuous improvement and operational efficiency initiatives.
- Perform additional hands-on duties in the workshop as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or trade school preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in production coordination or repair planning, preferably in aftermarket or service-based environments.
- Relevant pump repair experience required.
- Strong understanding of technician scheduling, repair processes, and shop operations.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and time management skills.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and bills of materials.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Fast-paced, hands-on workshop environment with regular use of tools and machinery.
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, type, write, reach, bend, climb, and handle equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- May require extended hours or weekend work during peak periods.
- Ensure compliance with all safety processes and procedures.
- Complete all required safety training and participate in ongoing development programs.
- Consistently wear Nikkiso-approved PPE and enforce compliance among team members.
