The Parts Technician is responsible assisting in the maintenance and organization of an accessible and consistent inventory. Through organization, the Parts Technician provides necessary support to internal and external clients by fulfilling tool and part requests, to satisfy job requirements. For the purposes of this document, 'Company' refers to Ketek Group Inc. and all its subsidiaries.
- Forecast future needs of tools, parts and equipment for the Company
- Organize and categorize parts for easy identification and access
- Manage, track and control of inventory through dedicated software system
- Generate PO’s and purchase parts; liaising with Purchaser and Shipper/Receiver
- Perform general physical activities in order to load, unload, sort, and move shipments by hand or using material handling equipment
- Complete Pre-Job Safety Instructions/Job Safety and Hazard Assessments and Proactive Safety Reports and other required paperwork
- Interact with fellow employees to receive and fulfill orders via the parts desk
- Process and fulfill internal pick tickets
- Quote parts for external clients
- Associate and charge parts to specific jobs
- Creation of SE tickets for internal Maintenance part tracking
- Process Flow Meter orders, including assembly of required parts, calibration and testing
- Process Gas Monitor orders, calibration, testing and maintenance
- Assign and track PPE
- Cooperate with the Training department for scheduling of new/recertification training
- Perform routine housekeeping duties in the Parts Room and area
- Observe all safety procedures and use proper Personal Protective Equipment
- Ensure all of the Company’s work procedures, policies and Occupational Health and Safety regulations are followed
- Represent the Company in a light that is commensurate with the values of Management and the Corporate Mission Statement

- Minimum 1 year of experience in parts or service environments
- High School diploma
- Proficient computer/typing skills
- Fluent in the English language (reading, written, spoken)
- Must have basic mechanical aptitude
- Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Ability to work under pressure and handle changing schedules and priorities, with high level prioritization skills
- Able to demonstrate good hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Strong work ethic and organizational planning skills with attention to detail
- Journeyman Certification or Apprenticeship as Parts technician is an asset
- Experience and knowledge of the Company’s equipment (or similar) an asset
- Similar industry knowledge/skills an asset
- Ability to use a 2-way radio
This position is defined as Safety Sensitive: Drug, Alcohol, Back, and Audio tests are required prior to commencing employment.
- Regularly required to stand/sit, talk/hear, stoop, climb, lift, push/pull, balance, kneel and use of hands/fingers to operate tools, machinery and materials
- Moderate to heavy lifting (up to 50lbs) may be required
- Use of mechanical aids: overhead crane, pallet jack, and other aids may be required
- Occasional exposure to welder arc
- Exposure to loud noises, dust and metal particulates - hearing and respiratory protection is provided when needed
- Potential exposure to acetylene gas, fumes, oil, and paint residue
- Exposure to sharp edges, pinch points, trip and slip hazards, moving equipment and blind spots
- Shop and yard environments (100%)
- May be required to work weekends and outside of regular office hours
- May be required to work outside in all different weather conditions including extreme cold and heat
