- Post-secondary technical training in mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, compressors, pumps, welding, or similar fields.
- Minimum of 2–5 years of mechanical maintenance, assembly, or troubleshooting experience in an industrial environment.
- Experience with mechanical systems such as pumps, compressors, valves, and rotating equipment preferred.
- Experience in hydrogen, industrial gases, renewable energy, fuel cell systems, or chemical processing equipment is a strong plus
- Working knowledge and hands-on experience with high-pressure piping and pressure vessels in compliance with ASME standards (such as Section VIII, B31.3, and B31.12), including inspection, maintenance, and safety practices.
- Working experience with high pressure system having working pressure of 15000 psig.
- Competence in use of standard hand tools, power tools, and mechanical assembly fixtures.
- Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment.
- Troubleshooting and repair of pumps, compressors, hydraulics, and related equipment.
- Familiarity with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space procedures, and industrial safety standards.
- Comfortable working in industrial plant environments with exposure to noise, heat, and mechanical vibrations.
- Willingness to work on rotating shifts, overtime, or on call as operationally required.
- Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to document maintenance tasks, write reports, and fill work orders.
- Works collaboratively with operations, reliability, and engineering teams.
- Familiarity with hydrogen-specific safety standards (e.g., NFPA 2, OSHA) and safety certifications such as OSHA, HAZOP, SIMOP, etc., is an added advantage.
- Experience with instrumentation and basic electrical troubleshooting is an added advantage.
- Well versed with ISO/ American Standards and local statutory norms in California.

- Ensure uninterrupted operation of mechanical systems at the plant. Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues to minimize downtime.
- Adhere to the plans for installation, start up, testing, preventive maintenance, etc. for the mechanical systems for facility of Hydrogen production plant.
- Perform preventive maintenance, alignments, lubrication tasks.
- Support commissioning, startup & shut down activities under supervision.
- Adhere to the standard operating procedures and standard maintenance procedures for plant.
- Follow the permit system for routine maintenance jobs in the plant and necessary record keeping.
- Assisting Plant Manager in developing and implementing the annual capital and operational budget.
- Providing technical support to the staff and contractors on day-to-day operation and maintenance related matters
- Conducting inspections: Perform routine inspections and audits to identify and resolve issues.
- Identifying ideas for cost reduction and efficiency improvement and plan to implement
- Evaluating new technologies: Recommend new technologies to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Ensuring that all necessary reporting, recordkeeping, and documentation is completed.
- Maintain up to date technical documentation to meet regulatory requirements.
- Maintain tools, spares & other mechanical related inventories.
