Position

Mine Beat Geologist, UG, Nunavut

Location and Reporting Structure

Reporting to the Sr. Mine Geologist, this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.

Responsibilities

- Log production from the underground infill diamond drilling program in accordance with industry standards.

- Coordinate daily diamond drilling activities, including data input (e.g. surveys, planned holes, timecards, safety sheets), and track drill performance, deviations, delays, and costs.

- Liaise with the diamond drill supervisor, conduct underground drill inspections, and participate in drill planning, including identifying infill targets.

- Support geological activities such as underground mapping, chip sampling, geological interpretation, and production tracking for both underground and open pit operations.

- Maintain the core shack and assist with core handling and sampling as needed.

- Communicate effectively across departments to ensure smooth integration of geological data into operational planning.

- Adhere to B2Gold Nunavut’s safety standards and procedures at all times, promoting a safe work environment and ensuring compliance with site-specific safety protocols.

Desired Competencies and Requirements

- Three (3) years of experience core logging (preferably high-grade gold, orogenic gold, or banded iron formation); experience in an artic mining environment would be considered an asset.

- Bachelor of Science in Earth Sciences or Bachelor of Science in Geology or related discipline.

- Must be able to register as a Registrants in Training (RIT) or Registrant in Training (Mobility) with Northwest Territories and Nunavut Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists (NAPEG).

- Experience working with geological software (Datamine Suite, Deswik, CAD etc.) is an asset.

Compensation and Benefits

For informational purposes, the annual salary for this role is $150,000.00
