Responsible for directing the day-to-day maintenance activities while maintaining a safe working environment. Responsible for ensuring that the maintenance team is capable of meeting maintenance requirements with preventative maintenance efforts and major repair initiatives. Ensure all equipment is in full compliance with all regulatory requirements with regards to Safety & Health and Environmental matters.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise, train, and direct the work activities of maintenance team.
- Assigns duties, directs, supervises, and evaluates the performance of maintenance employees.
- Engage in proactive communication with supervisory team members and maintenance team members.
- Maintain, repair, and optimize large scale industrial equipment.
- Emphasize safety when working with the maintenance team, contractors, electricians, engineers, and management.
- Manage preventative maintenance operations, ongoing repairs and maintenance, automation, and data collection system upgrades on heavy equipment. Recommend replacement for outdated equipment and controls, direct and assist as needed.
- Tour work location daily to inspect assigned maintenance jobs and assess mechanical performance in key areas including mobile equipment and transportation vehicles.
- Collect, review, and file daily maintenance reports including presenting reports during meetings and communicating with maintenance team regarding unaddressed maintenance requirements.
- Review work orders submitted to maintenance team; set priorities for the upcoming shift and week – adjusting priorities in tandem with objectives and goals.
- Ensure communication of PPE and EHS requirements as well as company policies and procedures.
- Initiate necessary maintenance directives and carry implementation plan through to completion.
- Report activities and status to management on a regular basis.
- Ensure completion of Lube and Inspection routes, inclusive of required paperwork and filing.
- All personnel may be required to perform duties outside of their normal responsibilities from time to time, as needed.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Higher Level Degree in related field desired but not required.
- Ten (10) or more years of advanced experience with preventative maintenance strategies and major repair initiatives.
- Five (5) or more years of supervisory experience in a maintenance capacity.
- Knowledge of maintenance procedures and heavy machinery functions.
- A strong background in best practices and proactive maintenance methods and organizational development for maintenance employees.
- Knowledge OSHA and best practices to ensure safe maintenance practices.
- Able to organize and coordinate maintenance projects.

- Work performed in a plant environment. Exposure to inclement weather as most work will be performed outside.
- Regularly required to lift, carry, push, and pull 75 lbs. or more.
- Frequently required to walk on unleveled ground.

- Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials and manipulating things.
