The Manager Maintenance will be responsible for the overall management of the maintenance department, through effectively utilizing personnel, equipment and other resources in a safe, reliable, efficient, environmentally sound and cost-effective manner in support of the business unit's performance measures.
- Provide leadership necessary to define and achieve Maintenance goals and targets.
- Ensure employees have a clear understanding of expected safety performance and perform risk assessments as needed.
- Direct the maintenance budgeting process.
- Establish department goals and objectives that align with site and corporate strategies.
- Determine the staffing needs of the maintenance department in order to achieve maintenance and mine plans while meeting overtime and cost goals.
- Direct the maintenance planners and schedulers, to ensure the planning and scheduling processes conform to accepted company standards.
- Work with other departments to understand short, intermediate and long-term planning goals and develop strategies to achieve goals.
- Establishes and maintains a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking work orders, spare parts, and maintenance history of plant equipment.
- Prepares reports, analyzes data, and makes recommendations for improving maintenance operations and solving maintenance-related problems.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field and 8-10 years’ experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the requisite knowledge to successfully perform the job
- Have a good knowledge of maintenance management systems
- Solid understanding of project management and successful delivery of objectives
- Preferred Union experience
