Job Summary
NAES is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance activities at a 25MW woody biomass power plant in California. This role oversees all maintenance planning, execution, and documentation for steam turbine systems, electrical equipment, material-handling systems, and plant auxiliary equipment. The Maintenance Manager directs multi-craft personnel and contractors, ensures safe and reliable operations, drives continuous improvement, manages CMMS workflows, and maintains compliance with safety and environmental requirements.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Ensure safe equipment operation in compliance with OSHA, environmental, and company standards.
- Lead and supervise Electricians, IC&E Technicians, Mechanics, and contractors.
- Oversee the CMMS work order system, including planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Manage preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs and reliability initiatives.
- Investigate equipment failures, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare maintenance reports, documentation, and performance summaries for plant leadership.
- Strong understanding of power plant operations, maintenance functions, turbine technology, mechanics, hydraulics, electricity, and electronics.
- Demonstrated experience leading multi-craft maintenance teams, including Electricians, IC&E; Technicians, and Mechanics, within an industrial or power-generation environment.
- Proficient in troubleshooting complex equipment problems and developing cost-effective solutions.
- Understanding of work order management, maintenance budgeting, and cost controls
- Familiarity with Risk-Based Asset Management (RBAM) principles and industry best practices.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and CMMS systems.- 6+ years of supervisory experience in a solid fuel–fired power plant
- Solid-fuel experience preferred; Natural Gas background acceptable with strong outage/turnaround planning experience.
Compensation
The hourly rate for this position generally ranges between $80 - $90.
