As a Loader Operator, (1st shift, $29 CAD/HR) your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Operate a front end loader with a bucket or scoop to lift and transport glass materials to feed hoppers, and to load trucks with the appropriate material. Move material from bunkers to the correct finish goods piles. Perform routine maintenance on loaders, such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning. Responsible for the safe operation of the machine and follow all rules, policies and procedures.
- Inspect and clean Loader at the start of shift; Report issues to the Shift Supervisor
- Fill feed hoppers for all plant production
- Pile glass inventory after trucks have unloaded
- Inspect the product of incoming loads
- Remove finished product from bunkers and record number of bucket and weights; Move inventories around the yard as required
- Blend the different inventory types for production and record the bucket weights of the blended material
- Loading trucks with products for sale
- Moves and replaces bins throughout the yard, keeping inventory bays neat and tidy and free of debris, removing garbage and contaminants from product upon arrival
- Report all mechanical problems immediately to the Supervisor
- Proper use and wearing of mandatory PPE
- Perform other duties as directed
- Possession of a high school diploma or general equivalency diploma
- Must be able to read and write English
- Must have a Certificate of Competency to operate heavy equipment
- Previous experience operating heavy equipment in a manufacturing environment
- Mechanical ability is a definite asset
- Attention to detail
