Journeyperson Machinist

Position Summary

This position is responsible for fabricating, modifying, and repairing mechanical components and equipment.

Schedule

This position currently follows a 28-day shift rotation working day shifts from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. The shift rotation is: 3 days, 2 off, 2 days, 3 off, 2 days, 2 off, 3 days, 2 off, 2 days, 3 off, 2 days, 2 off.

Location

This position is located at the Plant Operation, located approximately 30 km from the city of Estevan. The successful candidate will be responsible for his/her own accommodations and transportation.

Duties & Responsibilities

- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, or diagrams.

- Identify worn and damaged parts, fabricating, repairing, adjusting, or replacing as needed.

- Operate machining tools such as lathes, drill press, milling machine, and boring equipment.

- Build or repair products with accuracy and in accordance with specifications.

- Maintain records of repairs and preventative maintenance activities.

- Assist industrial mechanics with maintenance work.

- Operate forklift, winch truck, and boom truck as required.

- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalency certificate.

- Red Seal Journeyperson Machinist certification.

- Valid Class 5 driver’s license.

- Previous experience in a mining environment is an asset.

- Ability to work 12-hour shifts.
