We’re seeking a seasoned Inventory Management & Purchasing Manager to join our small fabrication business and take ownership of ERP implementation, inventory control, replenishment strategy, vendor sourcing and purchasing operations. This role will report to senior leadership and work cross-functionally across fabrication, operations, and finance functions. With approximately 5+ years of relevant experience required, the ideal candidate will bring a blend of tactical execution skills and strategic inventory thinking—with the ability to simplify processes and drive cost / service improvements.
1. Oversee end-to-end inventory management: track stock levels, safety stock, reorder points, obsolete items, slow-moving parts.
2. Develop and maintain purchasing strategies aligned with fabrication schedules and customer-order demand (job orders, customer orders, service orders).
3. Source, evaluate and maintain supplier relationships: negotiate pricing, lead-times, terms, and ensure quality/compliance.
4. Collaborate with fabrication, operations and planning teams to forecast material needs, prioritize orders, and minimize excess inventory.
5. Implement and maintain inventory KPIs: turns, days on hand, service level, stockouts, cost avoidance.
6. Manage purchase order creation, approvals, supplier follow-up and delivery verification.
7. Identify and execute continuous improvement initiatives: reduce costs, lead times, waste and improve supplier responsiveness.
8. Ensure accurate data in ERP system and support reporting to senior leadership.

of experience in inventory management and/or purchasing, preferably in manufacturing or fabrication environment.
2. Strong understanding of supply chain fundamentals: forecasting, safety stock, lead time management, vendor management.
3. Basic knowledge of ASME and API Code requirements
4. Ability to read and understand isometric blueprints and BOMs
5. Knowledge of ASME & ASTM material specifications
6. Solid negotiation and supplier performance management skills.
7. Comfortable working in a hands-on environment—small team, high visibility, fast-moving operations.
8. Proficiency with ERP systems and Excel; experience migrating or improving inventory modules is a plus.
9. Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
10. Self-starter mindset, results-oriented and comfortable balancing cost-control with service needs.
