The Product & Inventory Manager is the owner of SKU life-cycle management and finished-goods inventory health across all Emerald Carpets manufacturing and distribution sites. This role serves as the critical bridge between Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, and Plant Operations to maximize inventory turns, minimize aged/obsolete stock, and ensure smooth new-product transitions while partnering with site leadership to keep production labor costs under control. - SKU Life-Cycle Ownership
- Lead the creation, phase-in, and phase-out process for all finished-good SKUs.
- Aged & Slow-Moving Inventory Recovery
- Partner with Sales leadership on quarterly aged-inventory reviews.
- Develop and execute recovery programs (special pricing, bundles, outlet sales, carpet-tile conversion, etc.).
- Achieve corporate aged-inventory targets (< 90 days for > 95 % of FG value).
- Production Smoothing & Overtime Reduction
- Analyze historical demand for top cut-length SKUs and create leveled cutting schedules that spread production across the year.
- Work with plant schedulers to pre-build inventory during slow periods, reducing peak-season overtime by target of ≥ 25 %.
- Inventory Team Leadership
- Provide direction and priorities to facility-level inventory control associates (Nevada, Georgia, and future sites).
- Standardize cycle-count programs, reconciliation processes, and KPI dashboards across plants. Direct reports: 3–5 Inventory Control Supervisors (dotted-line)
