The Workplace Technology Manager will lead end-user computing operations across Redwood City and other office locations. This role is responsible for managing a team of engineers, ensuring seamless IT support, and maintaining high service standards. The manager will oversee hardware lifecycle processes, enforce compliance with IT policies, and coordinate with vendors for timely service delivery. Additional responsibilities include optimizing IT asset management, ensuring efficient data infrastructure, implementing productivity-enhancing solutions (including AI tools), managing AI governance, conducting audits, and owning vendor relationships.
- Lead and mentor a team of 4–5 engineers to deliver exceptional L1/L2 support.
- Define and monitor SLAs for end-user support and ensure adherence.
- Act as an escalation point for critical IT issues impacting business operations.
- Oversee troubleshooting and resolution of hardware/software issues.
- Ensure timely OS installations, imaging, and configuration for new devices.
- Drive proactive support for leadership and critical business functions.
- Maintain accurate IT asset records and enforce asset tracking policies.
- Conduct periodic audits and ensure compliance with IT governance standards.
- Manage laptop buyback programs and refresh cycles in alignment with policy.
- Oversee laptop dispatch, returns, and e-waste disposal in compliance with policy.
- Manage vendor relationships for repairs, replacements, and warranty claims.
- Negotiate service agreements and ensure timely closure of service requests.
- Provide oversight for basic LAN/Wi-Fi troubleshooting and printer support.
- Coordinate with network teams for escalations and infrastructure improvements.
- Ensure efficient and secure data infrastructure to support business operations.
- Explore and implement productivity-enhancing solutions, including AI tools.
- Manage AI governance frameworks to ensure ethical and compliant usage.
- Oversee IT audits and ensure adherence to regulatory and internal standards.
- Own strategic vendor relationships for advanced technology solutions.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Experience:
5–8 years in IT support/workplace technology roles, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft 365, and imaging tools.
- Familiarity with IT asset management systems and ticketing platforms.
- Basic understanding of networking fundamentals (LAN/Wi-Fi/VPN).
