The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) serves as a strategic partner to plant and operations leadership within a large steel pipe manufacturing environment. This role aligns HR initiatives with business objectives to drive workforce performance, employee engagement, safety culture and compliance.
- Partner closely with plant and functional leaders to support operational objectives, productivity targets, and cost-control initiatives.
- Translate business strategy into actionable HR initiatives that strengthen workforce effectiveness, leadership capability, and organizational readiness.
- Drive succession planning and talent readiness for critical operational and leadership roles.
- Utilize workforce data, HR metrics, and insights to identify trends, assess risk, and recommend improvement opportunities.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition to develop and execute recruitment strategies for skilled trades, engineering, operations, and leadership roles.
- Support onboarding, engagement, retention strategies, and career development to enhance employee experience and reduce turnover.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders on employee relations matters, including investigations, corrective action, discipline, and conflict resolution.
- Ensure fair, consistent, and legally compliant application of company policies, procedures, and labor agreements.
- Maintain accurate and timely HR documentation and employee records in accordance with company policy and regulatory requirements.
- Reinforce a strong safety culture by partnering with EHS and operations leadership to promote accountability and compliance.
- Support diversity, equity, inclusion, and respectful workplace initiatives that foster an inclusive and high-performing culture.
- Assist with benefits communication and respond to employee inquiries as needed.
- Ensure compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations, including OSHA, FLSA, FMLA, ADA, and EEOC requirements.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to proactively identify and mitigate compliance risks.
We’re looking for individuals who bring the right mix of experience, mindset, and motivation:
- BA/BS degree in Human Resources, Business, or comparable field
- 5-7 years exempt level HR experience in an industrial / manufacturing setting preferred
- HR certification desired (PHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP)
- Strong working knowledge of employment law, employee relations and HR best practices
- Experience partnering with operations leadership in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in steel, metals, heavy manufacturing or industrial production
- Labor relations experience
- Business acumen and operational understanding
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
